All my thoughts on "Stranger Things 3"
There will be major Stranger Things spoilers ahead so if you haven’t seen season 3 yet, you have been warned!
As much as the Netflix algorithm that brought us Stranger Things freaks me out, I can’t deny that the show is entertaining. You can watch it as a family! I think that is really cool in an age where the plethora of entertainment options often creates separation in a once communal act. Season two definitely didn’t reach season one’s level for me, so I was happy to be completely blown away by the third season:
Steve – Back at it again as everyone’s unequivocal favorite character and babysitter. Joe Keery is criminally underrated. His performance as Steve, once again, would make the Grinch’s heart grow three sizes. I will literally stop watching the show if anything happens to Steve, so Duffer brothers, you have been warned.
Scoops Ahoy gang – Hands down the best storyline this season. Everything else was just background noise to me. Robin, Steve, Dustin, and Erica all have my heart and I hope to see them back together more in Season 4. It can be hard to win over audiences with the addition of new characters, but Robin and Erica (who played a more prominent role this season) had me cheering for them within minutes.
Joyce Byers and her magnets – Winona Forever. That’s all.
Eleven’s character arc – Dare I say it, Millie Bobby Brown may have won me back over this season! I loved the development of her friendship with Max. I love a good makeover montage, and the scenes at the mall were some of my favorites. I also liked seeing Max as a more integral part of the gang this season.
Billy’s death – Honestly, I am a little bummed about this because I would have loved to see him do a full 180 and really redeem himself/mend his relationship with Max. But obviously, I get it, plot and all that. He was good while he lasted.
The addition of Robin – Maya Hawke was nothing short of amazing and I am so excited to see what happens for her character next. She fits into the cast perfectly.
Hopper’s “death” – Man, I wonder who “the American” must be. Hmmmm.
